You're not alone. Up there in my list of only 4-5 films I can have on TV in the background at any time. And Phibes Rises Again is in that same list. And to top it off, the organ rendition of War March of The Priests from the opening is my ringtone

Thanks for the list guys - keep them coming!

"Inseminoid"...really? Was Johnny Holmes in that one??

I have been looking for 'The Boogens' everywhere, NO luck....

A couple that I watched on YouTube were real stinkpots...lol...a couple have been awesome though!

    Thanks!

the boogens has never had any official dvd release. Note that the VHS tape you want is the one from Paramount (mid 90's). Also take note the film has been shown on some HD networks in an OVER MATTED fake widescreen format. Boots of that airing on dvd abound as well

here is a compare pic (matted on top and vhs on bottom) and you can see what I mean by it being over matted. Film looks like it should have had a 1:66 or 1:78 ratio not 1:85 as presented here

A little trivia ... I think the guy who plays the doctor was Clayton Moore's replacement in The Lone Ranger.

Another favorite that I mentioned on a previous thread:
Trilogy of Terror, with Karen Black
Also, though it was made in 1982
Q: The Winged Serpent...I love that film!

Also, Tales From the Crypt (the 70's movie)
Tales From the Crypt is one of my favorites - I only have a shoddy VHS copy though. It's been watched to death, the picture is lousy and so is the sound quality.

Those are GREAT stories with great actors - Grimsdyke's story made cry as a kid - those evil neighboors! Cushing is awesome as always - in this one playing a lonely and meek character.
That monotonous Christmas music, the set decor, the acting, the cast, the make-up, I love nearly everything about this film.

Just noticed it's on YouTube - its GREAT to see the quality video and audio!

In my opinion, this is VERY well done all around - Cushing really plays this with a natural understanding of the character:

(HOW he didnt get some sort of 'film award' for this picture I dont know - the scene when he is communicating with his wife is Oscar worthy in my opinion - he LOOKS like he is actually being used as a vessel! THATS acting folks.)
