Best Worst Movie: The Troll 2 Documentary

I don't know if anybody here has seen "Troll 2" or noticed the phenomenon surrounding it but if you like movies that are so fundementally poor they're actually entertaining then this is for you.

This documentary, made by the then child star of Troll 2 mostly follows around the actor who played his dad in the film, now a succesful dentist, as he tries to deal with being famous for his then one movie credit, Troll 2.

This movie is absolutely wonderful, there is some sadness but also genuine hilarity to be had as the original film's (completely delusional) director joins their tour and sees packed houses laughing at his "art".

While it's subject matter would never make anybody's "top ten best" list, this fun documentary made mine.

The only thing that bugged me was at one point in the film George (the dad) gets kind of upset at a horror convention, he utters something to the point of "Who buys this stuff?" and then walks by the Mattel Rodan doll I've been looking for.

Oh and if you must watch Troll 2, use protection:

I started watching this yesterday and have really enjoyed it so far. I'll stick the rest on later. I do like the main lead, he comes across really likeable, I'm sure a lot of movie goers are happy he's stuck to dentistry though.

The line "I'm tightening my belt by one loop so I don't feel hunger pain" cracked me up.

I've been meaning to check this one out. Played at a few of the rep theatres, but I kept having plans or missing it. Looks awesome and that Tyler Stout poster is dope - as always.

I've heard nothing but great things about this documentary. I would have to watch Troll 2 first. The first one left such a bad taste in my mouth as a kid, that I can't bring myself to watch it, even though I know I'd enjoy it on some level.

I am still trying to recover from Troll 1!

However, next to a good horror movie, I simply cannot get enough of movie documentaries so I will certainly add this to the list.

I watched this yesterday and liked it. I went in to Netflix and to my surprise Troll 2 was on the "watch instantly" list so I watched that as well. Troll 2 is very bad yet strangly enough, it's still watchable!?
