Imhotep seems more realistic to me, in the pictures above anyhow.

I have to agree with this! Karloff nailed the role from an acting perspective. Though he wore the "Mummy" makeup for the opening sequence only, he really sold the creepy undead vibe throughout the film.

But there is something so crazy fun about the subsequent MUMMY films, that one has to say, don't stalk after me, mummy!!

Imhotep...no question. Not just the Karloff one, but the Vosloo recent version as well. While I liked the follow up films from Karloffs well enough (at least those I've seen), the other "mummies" didnt have the same presence as Karloffs. the Hammer versions inparticular. AMC just recently ran a bunch of these, and while they are fun to watch, I often wondered why the Mummies intended victims didnt just walk away from the slow moving, dim witted Mummy? Instead they all just stood there...sometimes shooting a pistol, or just standing there looking scared, while the mummy eats up screen time slowly making its way to attack. I swear I saw on of the victims check his watch while waiting for the old walking bag o' rags to get him

The Tom Tyler Kharis is my fave. followed by Christpher Lee's version.
I also really dig The Mummy's Curse, Mrs. Olsen was smokin' hot in that one...

That Monsters from the Vault Kharis special is awesome. I hope they do more editions like that for the other monsters.

Karloff's Imhotep scared the **** out of me when I was a kid ...so he is my top pick....but the kharis movies were more fun to watch

The Kharis movies were my first monster movies, so I gotta say him.
