How was Godzilla Raids Again ?

Was just looking through a list of Godzilla movies and I suddenly realized i've never seen Godzilla Raids Again/Gigantis, the Fire Monster.

My favorite Godzilla movies are (not in order of liking) .....
Godzilla King of Monsters
King Kong vs Godzilla
Godzilla 1985
Godzilla vs the Smog Monster

Just wondering if you think i'll like Godzilla Raids Again ?

That is for me one of the poorest Godzilla movies......seems rushed and stupid only cool thing is when Godzilla fights Anguirus....other than that I'd pass on it....

I just watched it last year and I thought is was ok. I've read that it was rushed to production. I watched the Japanese version with English subtitles though, so might be a little different than the dubbed English version. More of a straight-face sci fi movie without any campiness that some later flicks have in it.

It's ok.
I don't miss the time I spent watching it, but I haven't it watched it all that many times.
And I've had the tape since some time in the 80's.

Compared to the rest of 'em it's pretty low-key. Plays like a standard 50's monster film.

I seem to remember having a copy when that awful US remake came out, IMO Gigantis is unremarkable.

I actually picked this up the other day, super cheap, Really loved watching it in the movie theaters back then, But, couldn't get into it at all, this go around, Too silly and boring I kept falling alseep.

If you picked up the sony dvd than that is why. It has the horrible international dubbing and not the fun (and usually superior) AIP dubbing that was present in the US. So when you saw this in the theater and liked it, that is because you saw it with the AIP dubbing.

Yeah, but it's only a matter of time. Gamera vs Godzilla would be cool; but they're owned by different (rival) companies. (For now.... until they're both bought by google or somesuch....)

I love Godzilla, but I think Gamera could kick his butt.

Godzilla is one of the money makers, cant understand how they could retire him. The American version sucked.

My 8 yr old son has a collection of the vinyl Godzilla toys.

Another great matchup would be Godzilla vs Mecha king Kong
