On Talking Dead a couple of weeks ago they mentioned this info. (see link below). I thought why would anyone want to head to a place called "Terminus"?? Now that sounds like a place you go to die! But.........

Yeah, there is no way I could sit outside on the porch of some shack at night, drink and relax. Or, even sit in a cabin with the lights on at night. I might feel better with some blackout blinds but no way I would be sleeping or relaxing by the window.

I just binge-watched the past three episodes tonight. Seems like a bunch of wheel spinning and shock value at this week's end. Even with a mid-season break it seems they are writing this as they go. With so much immediate feedback through twitter and the like perhaps they are making running changes. They are able to tell a different type of story now with the characters separated, they can really develop them. I just don't think they are reaching their potential and probably haven't for a couple of seasons. I have to keep reminding myself that, at it's core, this is a human drama and their situations and the actual walkers are props and backdrops for it. I sincerely hope they have a master plan for the season finale cause it's sorta getting stale.

This past episode was probably the best episode in the series so far.

When they were wondering what to do with the girl AFTER she killed her sister it never occurred to me they would even consider killing her.

Nice unexpected surprise (nice as in they got me )

I don't know what they're going to use from the remaining comic arcs, but the very next one is implausibly dark, especially for a zombie apocalypse. It's as if Romero Zombie movies were in a shared universe with 70's Wes Craven. I feel as if that's what they were trying to set up in The Grove with the girl's psychosis: By showing us now how this reality can drive an innocent little girl insane, it shortens the leap to accept what's coming. I don't buy the logic flow, just like I didn't buy it last night, but I can't deny the visceral impact.

I think Terminus is going to be an amalgam of parts from the next three major arcs because each has a number of repetitive actions that won't work on TV at their story pace. Dead would have to take on the tempo beat of Lost, but AMC has no interest in spending that kind of cash.

I don't know.... Seems to me like they constantly keep on finding terrible ways for people to die. (Not in a torture-porn kind of way, but in a gut-wrenching emotional kind of way). More than just about any show, I feel like any character ( probably besides Rick) could die. Well... I guess there could be Game of Thrones too....

Last night's episode was a good example though of the deaths having some emotional resonance. Probably my favorite episode this season.

Good observation about the smoke. It never occurred to me. My guess is that, as the season comes to a close, they'll all reunite in the finale in some frantic situation and in the chaos, before they reunite, one beloved character will kill another. (Glen will shoot Maggie; Daryl will shoot Carol; etc...)

These writers go for the jugular.

Last nights episode shows once again why this is one of the best shows around now. That was some powerful stuff.

To me the zombies have always been accessories on the show.

Eh, I'm over this show. I can't help it anymore, I pick it apart to much instead of just enjoying it. They were in such a rush to find a "home" because the zombies were to much and they were never safe. Now they can just sleep anywhere they damn well please like in the middle of the train tracks. The show lost it's edge. The only chance anyone gets killed anymore is by another human. The zombies are just accessories to this show.

    Agreed.

And coming in third, I'd have to say Herschel being murdered by the Governor.

Duh, I didn't even think about that! I was sitting there hoping they'd show what it was from, but that makes total sense. Great episode last night. I knew something was going to finally break with the little psycho girl but did not see that coming.

This episode was powerful, Melissa McBride is such a great actress, and compare Carol from season one or two to this... And I can't go without saying how strong those two girls were, they both should get credit for their performances as well. Unbelievable episode!
And it's funny you mention the fire, I thought that's what it was, all the cast is seperated and looking for each other and they're probably all within shouting distance of meeting up, maybe only hours or a few miles apart.

This show definitely has the ability to gut punch me. Just in case anyone here is wondering what the smoke was from, I would imagine it is from the house Darryl and Beth burned down, and the burned walkers were the group getting close to the house as it was on fire when the two were leaving. I saw someone had asked that on IMDB, and figured everyone probably knew that but thought I would throw that out here. Watched Talking Dead after and I cant believe how different Melissa is in real life than Carol.

Carol and Tyrese sitting at that table was easily this season's best scene.
