Man, that was such a cool show. When I was a teenager, Night Stalker was programmed at the same time as a show that my Mum used to watch. I used to have to watch it in our shed, where our crappy old tv was. Creaky shed + night-time + Night Stalker = spooky thrills!
The scariest episode for me was the zombie one, closely followed by the shapeshifter episode.

I picked up the complete series (Plus two made for TV movies) a few years back. A real treat to watch.

My favourite was the one with Peremalfait, the Louisiana Swamp Monster.

For me it was the zombie, the swamp monster and the lizard creature.

I bought the show when it came out on individual VHS cassettes and rejoiced the day it was released as a DVD box set. It's a staple at our house hold around Halloween or just whenever the mood hits me. It hits me alot.

Is there anything cooler than Darren McGavin as Carl Kolchak? The original NIGHT STALKER TV film remains one of my favorite movies to this day. As scary as it was the day it was aired in 1972, this one really left an impression on me. One of my favorite experiences was going to the 1999 Monster Bash in Pennsylvania, and getting a cool Kolchak statue (wish I could remember the artist who created it!).

"You're here by our mutual suffrage!"

Gotta love any movie that has lines like that. Thanks for the post, mego73!!

Oh yeah, I watch episodes almost as often as I watch the POTA TV episodes. My favorites are Horror in the Heights, The Vampire and The Werewolf. This was another show I got turned on to by watching it at my Grandmother's house. I can remember very few times as a child I enjoyed as much as watching Kolchak or Creature Double Feature with my Grandmother, usually with a big bag of chips or other munchies and a couple cans of Coke!

I need these on DVD. I never knew of this show until the Sci-Fi channel started airing them. I had to get past "Ralphie's Dad" as a monster-chaser though!

Funny When I watched Christmas story I had to get past Kolchak the monster chaser as Ralphies Dad.

Exactly! I saw him first in The Night Stalker as well

He has always been Kolchak to me.

I only saw a little Kolchak as a kid and did not remember that Ralphie's dad was him when I saw the movie

Great memories... I loved this show growing up... haven't seen any in ages. I remember him filling a zombie's mouth with salt and attempting to sew it closed, all in the close confines of the back of some old car. It might not hold up for me, but my memories of it are great!
