    DVD Collections at Giant

Stopped by our local Giant grocery store tonight and noticed some DVD collections near the front. They are 4 movies in a pretty cool looking tin. I got the Vampire collection but there was a Zombie collection, Werewolf collection and Haunted Houses collection as well. $9.99 or $8.99 if you have a bonus card. I guess they are there till Halloween

Oh man, what a sweet deal. Which movies are in them?

I will look today and let you know. I do know that the Vampire set includes the Hammer Dracula sequel to Dracula A.D. 1972, which has had a few titles. It's the one where LEE plays Dracula who is head of a corporation and is planning on unleashing the plague. I can't recall the other three titles off the top of my head. The Zombie set includes Night of the Living Dead and a couple of the Nazi Zombie movies. And the Werewolf set was the least interesting as it was four of the crappier flicks from The Howling movies.

That's Satanic Rights of Dracula, it seems to have some loose rights issues because it's always available on compilations.

Yeah, that's the title I think of it as. It is named something else in this set. Wasn't it also named Dracula Prince of Darkness somewhere along the line?

That one and AD 1972 are the two favs of mine in the Hammer vampire series, by the way. I think AD 1972 was the first one I saw (with my Grandmother back in the day) and I thought it was an awesome idea to bring the legend into modern times like that.

No, I think it was bundled with Dracula Prince of Darkness, that's what I remember.

"The Satanic Rites of Dracula" was also released under the title "Dracula and His Vampire Bride". "Dracula Prince of Darkness" is a completely different movie. It was the third movie in Hammer's Dracula series. "Satanic" was #8 in the series.
