Early reviews for "Let Me In" are excellent

The American remake of "Let the Right One In" premiered in Toronto to good reviews. I'm relieved they didn't blow it and I'm interested to see it set in 1980s America.

I was pleasantly surprised, too. And it's a Hammer film!

Saw it yesterday. It's very much like the original. Just like the original, the kids make the movie. The two leads are excellent. It's probably 90% the same as the original. I did like it, but it had a been there, done that feel to it. I think people who didn't see Let the Right One In will really like it. There's only one thing left out in this version, which I actually thought made more sense.

Yes. I thought the original needed to address the issue. This one skips it altogether.

I saw the original and I thought this remake film really rocked.
It was just as arty, but jolts you a bit more, yet retains so many layers of subtle character details.
I am shocked that people aren't commenting that it marks the return of HAMMER Horror studios...
              Hammer

Loved it. Saw it last night, I think it did justice to the original and even added to it.

Yeah . . . the book goes in to pretty significant detail on the issue -- still an odd element, but part of the story and an interesting development that it does bulild to . . . the fist movie, though, kinda throws it in with no explanation.

                  Although . . .

                  SPOILER!

I think the European version wimped out by casting a girl instead of a boy. At least in the American (from what I've heard -- haven't seen it yet) they've chucked that whole subplot.
