    Monsters in Niagara Falls

I try to get up to Niagara Falls every year or so, mostly because it's so full of horror kitsch, some of the sights:

    Live actors in Castle Dracula

House of Frankenstein, I went in there and scared the crap out of the people in front of me.

The area is loaded with wax Museums, the movieland one is probably the worst but also my favourite.

Somebody took Bela's fingers (and Michael Jackson's hand apparently)

That last Lugosi pic is definitely channeling Michael Jackson...

Oh wow! That place must be jumping on Halloween! I love that Frankie on top of Burger King w/ a Whopper in his hand! Too much!

Nice pics, I haven't visited Clifton Hill in quite some time (us locals usually steer clear of that tourist trap ). It's nice to see that Castle Dracula and House of Frankenstein are still there. I used to love going to those places (and Ripley's and Movieland) when I was a kid, I'll have to take my son when he gets a bit older. One place I miss is the Niagara Falls Museum. I loved looking at their really nice mummy collection and stuffed barnyard animal freaks of nature. Too bad it closed.

I think the fact that many of these places also sell bongs and glass pipes is very telling about the current audience for these attractions. By far the trippiest was the Hulk Encounter that was at the now defunct Marvel Adventure City, not only was it blacklight neon, but there was a spinny tunnel which was kind of the poor man's version of the Big Foot thing that used to be at Universal Studios back in the day.

I have a huge fondness for Clifton Hill. I try and do one silly thing on the strip each time I visit a couple of times a year.

Should have been more clear on that one, there was a Michael Jackson just before this that only had one hand, it's a dumpy wax museum.

(us locals usually steer clear of that tourist trap ).
Yeah, kept thinking "If I lived here, I'd never even drive close to this area."

but there was a spinny tunnel which was kind of the poor man's version of the Big Foot thing that used to be at Universal Studios back in the day.
That's in the Ripley's museum now, it made me sick.

We were there a couple of years ago passing through with the kids. We walked in front of those places, but didn't go in. They kids were too young for it. Looked like fun though.
