Finally got a copy of "Frankenstein: The True Story." It was really good. Amazing how BAD you feel for the monster. (Right until the end....)

I picked up the Val Lewton boxed set and the "Night Stalker/Night Strangler" double DVD this week. The Lewton set has gone down to $25.00 on Amazon vs. the original price of $45.00. I watched "The Night Stalker" tonight. I've probably seen all of the series episodes many times but I hate to admit I'd never seen the original movies that kicked off the series. It was a cool trip back to 1971

^^ Never understood why those two movies weren't included with the Kolchak box set.

Wal-Mart is changing their DVD selection this week. They have a large endcap of Disney films, and buried in the assortment are copies of "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and "The Black Hole". They also have "Fahrenheit 451".
Last week I stumbled across a copy of the restored original version of "The Little Shop of Horrors" at Big Lots for $3.00. This version includes a commentary track by Mike Nelson of MST3K and Rifftrax.

^^ Is that the one with the Crow figure? Or is there already another one?

The one with the figure is the 20th Anniversary set, special edition. (There's a regular edition without the figure or tin box.) It's technically box 13. Box 14 came out last week.

I've been busy seeking out deals on DVDs locally the last couple of weeks. These are the sci-fi/fantasy/horror films I've picked up:
                            Big Lots:
                            Darkman
                            Darkman 2
                            Waterworld
                            The Wiz
                            THX 1138 Director's Cut
Attack of the 50 foot Woman (Daryl Hannah version)
                            Wal-Mart:
                            Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius
                            Pleasantville
                            Big Trouble in Little China
Planet of the Apes (Tim Burton version)
The Addams Family 2-Pack (Addams Family and Addams Family Values)
                            The Mist
                            The Incredible Mr. Limpet
                            Weird Science
                            Target: Short Circuit 2
                            FYE: It's Alive
                            2010
                            C.H.U.D.
Godzilla The Series (Fox cartoon) Vol. 2 and 3
                            Ladyhawke
Flash Gordon Savior of the Universe Edition (marked down to $10!)
                            Best Buy: The Green Mile
                            The Thing (1982 version)
The Dark Crystal 25th Anniversary Edition
                            Xanadu (shutup)

I also scored a couple of large stacks of non-genre films. Big Lots just got in a bunch of classic films, including a few Edward G. Robinson and James Cagney gangster flicks, James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause", and "National Velvet", among others.

Just picked up "My name is Bruce."
The movie with Bruce Campbell in it.
                                It was freaking hilarious!!!
