Some of you may mock Eric Roberts...and although he was never an A lister like his sister...he's had a solid career as both a B movie actor and a decent character actor is some bigger budget flicks.
It's safe to say that most of us would love to trade professions with him...I know I would.
Plus he had a substantial role in Dark Knight. How cool is that?
She herself was in Satisfaction with Justin Bateman...not exactly Oscar material either...lol...
Ya, but at least she's never had to share the screen with Stan Lee!
The Ambulance: Eric Roberts plays a Marvel Comics artist obsessed with drawing the same girl in every comic... makes for a great story for the first 5 minutes, then it just sucks like every other Eric Roberts movie!
With a movie that boasts such actors as James Earl Jones and Red Buttons, you'd think they either one would steal the show, right? Wrong. The scene stealer of this flick is Eric Roberts' massively powerful MULLET of Masterfulness!
>I think the best B cinema is the stuff that's really trying to be better
It is, 'cos if you're doing a parody/omage/ripoff you're just rehashing the old ideas and cliches. If you're TRYING to do something good you'll probably stumble into something new. Not neccesarily GOOD, but new. (Check out the bonus features on the MST3K "Beast of Yucca Flats" episode for more.)
You know, I absolutely adore budget cinema but I sometimes can't get over the hump of "intentionally B" films. I think the best B cinema is the stuff that's really trying to be better. It's like drinking kool aid made by a little kid, not quite there but good for the story.
I agree.
Intentionally made B films, like the stuff on sci-fi, are made because the film makers were too cheap, lazy and just didn't care enough to bother to try to make a good film. Classic B movies are great because the film makers were actually trying to make a good film but lacked the budget, time and or skill to totally pull it off. It's why Plan 9 still holds up and stuff like Sharktopus will be instantly forgetable crap. Ed Wood tried his damndest to make good movies and actually thought he was. He gave it his all. So even with all their unintended flaws they are still enjoyable.

Reason: typos
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Couldn't agree more
