Yeah. It's a fairly nightmarish moment. The sound bite accompanied with the surprise, adds a nice chill to it. It's a little unnerving.

BTW...shouldn't this thread be in the Horror section?

Well...but then...I can see sci-fi aliens and monsters be pretty scary too...lol.

            Only problem,

Back in the day it was really scary -- especially the CHILLER voice.

Today, to me that voice sounds like Homer Simpson

As far as recent movies go, "The Ring" creeped me out.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Exorcist III - Its a long shot down a hallway of a nurse walking in and out of a patient's room. Very quiet scene, no music. She goes in twice, nothing happens. The third time she walks out a huge figure walks out directly behind her draped in sheets carrying a large knife. The camera zooms in as he prepares to attack her and the scene fades out. Very nightmarish.
Here's the majority of that scene...

I remember that film. And the hospital. That scene didnt freak me out as much as the old lady suddenly crawling across the ceiling.

I guess I can see how Spiderman would freak a lot of people out in the Comic world !

Ed Begley, Jr scares the crap out of me.

I know he's not a monster, but I have recurring nightmares involving him trying to break into my home and steal my KFC.

And I'm not really that into KFC to begin with!

Maybe as a kid - but now? Real life is scary enough now - who can bother with monsters.

Amazing - well, he probably won't get away too quick in his electric car anyway.

                              Tom Cruise.

                              I know, it's too obvious.
