I dunno, I disliked Diary of the Dead so much perhaps its tainting my outlook on this one.

This one don't look very good either.

I think Romero's last horrah great was Land of the Dead ...

As a new Canadian citizen, it appeared his first order of business was to create a zombie film homage based on classic Canadian Television series such as Beachcombers and Road to Avonlea.

Title of that film should be; "Surviving This Movie".

This movie was awful! I don't recommend it at all. It was so boring.

here is a reivew I wrote for some friends back in April (region 2 dvd version PAL), save your money--

            the review:
Just finished watching Romero's Survival of the dead.

Do not expect to be blown away, in fact do expect much of anything. Though the film was miles above that near unwatchable mess Diary of the dead, it still was laden with stupid humor that did not go so well. Romero cannot mix comedy and horror because he just plain sucks at it. The comedy was kind of tame, but stupid (not as overboard as the Amish guy in diary of the dead). Moments of the film did have the serious tone that he gave us in the ****ty Land of the dead film. At least his "politics" view in that sense was not here. Had he truly kept the film a serious tone, this could have been one dark, disturbing movie

to sum it up, acting was ok considering the lower budget, plot was alright but not really that good. In fact I would say just below mediocre at best, ehhh put it this way: I would not pay for this and maybe even a rental is asking too much.

He had a lot of good ideas that he fumbled up as usual and he gives us another film that I am sure someone is going to fan edit at some point in time

1000 times better than diary of the dead, but I was finding that I enjoyed Land of the dead (in different aspects) even more than this and that is not saying much

I'll probably see because it's a zombie movie

                  It was okay.
Not brilliant by any means but simply okay.

I loved the Beachcombers. Where did you live had you could pick that up on TV?

Canada! It was pretty much seen all over the country via rabbit ears courtesy of the CBC in the 70's.

That opening Ferry scene was a page directly taken from Relic's book of Get Quick Rich schemes! (except with Zombies)
