Monster Squad gets a remake!

Earlier today I told you guys about the Fright Night remake, well it looks as another 80's classic is getting remade.


Paramount Pictures is looking to to remake the 1987 film "The Monster Squad". Rob Cohen, who produced the original, hopes to direct the remake.

Cohen will produce with Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, and they’re meeting with several writers.

The movie is about a group of kids who worship the classic monsters suddenly discover that Dracula is in town, and he’s got his pals Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Gill Man and The Mummy with him. The kids must stop their efforts to find an amulet that will give the creatures control of the world.

I still have monster squad on dvd, and it cracked me up to find out the guy who played Dracula went on to play zorro on the family channel (WOW.....I feel so old saying that).

Good the Gill man needed more face time. Much like the Neptunian the creature from the black lagoon is a much under appreciated monster.

And forget the amulet Drac should be looking to unleash Godzilla or something under his control. Now THAT would be a movie.

How about a bout between classic monsters and new age monsters. (Freddy, Jason etc) Would love to see some old school but whipping. Unless Freddy added some silver to his claws. Drac and the Wolfman would kick his ***. And Frank could take Myers or Jason

Michael Bay, huh? So.... Dracula explodes a lot, and we find out that GillMan was actually left here a zillion years ago during an intergalactic war?
