What do we think of the new Nightmare on Elmstreet remake?

They went back to the original abandoned premise of him being a child molester in this one. Does add to the creepiness.

The problem with casting John Connor in this movie was, I kept expecting his female Terminator bodyguard to show up and kick tiny-Freddy's ***. Particularly since they kept staging scenes in that kind of industrial setting that Terminator movies always have their climax.

I wasn't bothered by it in the least because I never watched the Terminator TV show. Problem solved.

I grew up with the originals, saw the first when it first came out, it is one of my favorite slasher flicks, hell one of my favorite movies of all time and I really really enjoyed the new one. Haley did a great job as the new take on Freddy and his version of Freddy is the nasty SOB that Freddy should have been all these years, not Henny Youngman with a pepperoni pizza plastered on his head.

Don't get me wrong, I love Freddy as a character and an icon and all that, and enjoyed all of the movies for their own merits, however few there might have been at times. Robert Englund created something in character that has been awesomely entertaining. Haley and this film took it back to it's dark disgusting roots and made him despicable, and I like that.

Sure there's things that could have been changed around, but like the new TCM, Halloween, and F13th flicks, I enjoyed this one wholeheartedly.

michael bay needs to be relieved of command....PERMENANTLY.read the script of transformers, and see which 3 lines you get through. Friday the 13th sends a great messege too, steal jason's weed, and he kills you. he needs a kick in the pitute!
