    Remember Faces of Death ?

Back in the early 80's when video stores started popping up the biggest controversy was Faces of Death.

I remember renting and being very let down how lousy it was.

Even Mr Mike's Mondo Video was slightly more entertaining

Anybody else get sucked in by all the Faces of Death hoopla and found out you wasted 2 bucks (usual local rental fee) ?

I watched Faces of Death at one of those stupid high school "My parents went away" parties. It really didn't go over all that well and put a damper on the party.

At that same bash, I almost beat up a guy who stole my booze, he now prints our trading cards.

For some reason that last anecdote from palitoy made me think of Back to the Future. I picture the guy showing up to deliver trading cards to your garage dressed in a tracksuit like paunchy Biff. How would the future have been different if you hadn't nearly beaten up that guy all those years ago?
I didn't see Faces of Death until years after it was out 'cause I think I was too chicken. When I finally saw it I couldn't believe how crappy it was. I haven't seen the rest of them. Do they get better/more convincing as they go along?

I had them all on vhs I think the first one was okay and maybe the third but the rest were an absolute waste of film.
Ah man that scene with the monkey trapped in the table while they all sat around was just plain disgusting!!!

I seem to remember that some guy who hosted an animal show (think low-rent Wild Kingdom) was a producer on these, and when it got out, it was all over Entertainment Tonight or something.

My mom forbade me to watch those vidoes, and for some reason, this time I listened. Although I'm sure she would have frowned on most of our video selections if she realized what "Not Rated" meant.

Actually he'd have likely faired better with the beating, his cloudy judgement got him in all kinds of trouble during his 20s.

Oh and "that poor monkey" lived a long healthy life, much of Faces of Death is faked.

Did you get that info from the IMDB?
"This monkey went on to star in epic movies such as Raiders of the Lost Ark. He later retired and took up breeding prize persian cats as a hobby. He died in bed, surrounded by his wife and two sons. He received his star on the Walk of Fame in 1983...."
