    Toxic Avenger... Hollywood Remake!

First he took over Tromaville, then Japan and now he takes over the WORLD! It seems that some big Hollywood movers and shakers have inked a deal with Troma to bring their most famous creation to the big screen in blockbuster style. Check out the full story: Toxie Goes Hollywood!

Normally I would object to this sort of thing, but a more PG-13 style Toxic Avenger with big budgets and special effects could be just what Troma needs to help the little company that could.

The Toxic Avenger movies were cool because Troma didn't have a big budget to make 'em. A Hollywood remake can't possibly have the same charm as the originals

I agree ... and a big budget remake will fail miserably

Toxic Avenger was a semi hit because it was clever ... Hollywood has proven time and time again they CANNOT do anything clever.

They need to film Toxic Avenger, the Musical. That would work for a PG 13 version.

This is going to be a total mess, though I can see Lloyd's view on selling the rights and Troma making a real profit for a change, but man this is going to blow

                  This is crazy!!!

I Love this movie-My local video store sold me a used copy of the first film for $5.00 when I was 9 years old,if they only knew!- I thought it was the greatest movie ever, now I own it all on dvd-more remakes I hope they at least do it justice,I guess at least it'll help keep troma afloat.

.... or if they based it on the cartoon.

Or the comics. Really, there's nothing wrong with a PG-13 rating. People freak out when they see that because their knee-jerk reaction is that anything less than an R rating means it's a kid's movie.

Dark Knight had a PG-13 rating.

Yes but have you seen Toxie's past films? Kind of like the equivalent of making a friday the 13th film rated G. Granted he did have a kid's cartoon which was also bordering on unwatchable, but I just do not see this one pulling out well at all

It's actually kind of funny when you think about it. 30 plus years ago Hollywood told Lloyd to **@^#( off, now they want to buy the rights to te character that they said wasn't worthy to be captured on celluloid. Hmmmmmmm, so one of two things happened either A. They finally got it or B. They really have completely dried up and are digging ever deeper into the well of nostalgia in the hopes of making a buck.
