    Phantasm 1 and 2

Just finished watching Phantasm, and I have to say it really doesn't hold up too well. I'm about halfway through the second one and it seems to be the much better film.

The Tall Man with his munchkin guys and metal death balls are great bad guys.

I had forgotten that they were actually from another planet or some such nonsense! Very "Plan 9".

I'm a huge Phantasm fan or "Phan".
I still like the first film however it is very aged...
Reggie is one of the coolest heros ever.
I hope they make one more.

      Hmmmm....

There's a certain class of stuff that I like conceptually, but not in actuality. The Tall Man is an AWESOME idea but the movies kinda feel generic slasher to me.

I saw it as a kid and it scared the CRAP outta me!! Had nightmares for years that those little druid midgets were going to drag me under the bed.
Besides that it was actually a dumb movie.

NOOOOOOO! Phantasm is one of my top 5 horror movies. Heck, it might be 2nd next to Halloween. The first is by far the best and holds up very well in my opinion. Of course, you know what they say about opinions. The biggest thing about it is the originality of the premise. I REALLY give movies an extra star or two for originality and Phantasm has it in abundance. But even above that I LOVE the first flick. They get progressively worse in my opinion. I too was scared to sleep the couple nights after watching it. The only other movie that affected me that much was JAWS. I still haven't been in past my ankles since seeing it.

I've been enjoying them for years and have felt that the story and the tall man have been developing well.Again I hope they go back one more time and cap it off nicely.
In truth I could see one or maybe two more movies.

How were the third and fourth films?

I heard that the fourth film was a setup for the fifth film written by Roger Avery which would have been set in a Post Apocalyptic near future teaming Reggie up with Bruce Campbell to fight the Tall Man(Men?) and his minions.

So what is the deal with The Tall Man? There is more than one of him? He automatically gets resurrected every single time? Still can't quite figure out how the fortune teller's granddaughter from the first movie and the hitchhiker from the second movie tie into all of this... are they agents from the Tall Man's planet or possessed?

Always remembered being somewhat scared of this flick as a kid, but never like it as much as an adult.

I took my high school girlfriend to see part 2 back in the day. For whatever reason, it scared the poo out of me. maybe that's why she dumped me.

Haven't seen Phantasm since I was a kid, don't remember too much of it any more, guess it's time to rewatch them

I loved the cuda in the movie and would have to go with the second one as well.

I never went nuts over it. I watched it and thought it was very original but I cant remeber if I saw the second or not.

Halloween at #1 and Phan at two?

I'd have to make Night of the Living Dead then Alien maybe.
