Excellent blog entry on 1941 Wolf Man on Hero Complex

Susan King posted a great blog entry on Hero Complex on the original Wolf-Man film. Fans of the film may know most if not all of the info presented, but it's nice to see the original get some props with the remake on the horizon.

You'll have to scroll down a bit to Feb. 3's entry, but if you like the Wolf-Man, it's worth a look.

To me, Hero Complex is the best genre-related movie blog out there.

Good read. A lot of this is covered in the documentary on the Wolfman DVD set that came out when Van Helsing was released.

Ol' Larry is the favorite classic monster of me and the boy. The new movie looks to be a good updating of the original. Lots of pathos intact it seems. I'm jazzed to see it.

Yeah, I had read most if not all that info before . The second real book I ever read was Great Monsters of the Movies in the second grade — the first was a biography of Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron — and ever since I've been hooked on the Wolf Man. Yeah, I actually read about the movie before I saw it in the fourth grade.

I even recited the werewolf poem from the movie when my second-grade teacher made us recite one. It was either that or the Green Lantern oath.

But, it's cool to see that info in print or on web in the LA Times and with the photos. Maybe some kid somewhere is just getting hooked on monsters and would appreciate some old school horror.

I've been fired up to see this since it was announced. I'm hoping for a midnight showing, but I doubt there will be one in my little hamlet.
