The new Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer

I like the fact that it has an origin story...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AytCMB0YW8

I'm a HUGE Jackie Earle Haley fan.

I can't believe that skinny bully from the Bad News Bears has morphed into a serious actor.

He was amazing in both Little Children (nominated for an Oscar)...and The Watchmen (his Rorschach character was one for the ages).

You only get a glimpse of him as Freddy Kruger...but you can tell the makeup is more realistic than the old one. His face will be that of a more realistic burn victim.

The new Kruger will be molded after the one in the very first movie...pure evil...and will not be cracking jokes like in the other ones.

Although I'll have to get used to that new Kruger voice...for Robert Englund's voice is so iconic.

Englund has given Haley his blessing:

"Jackie is not big, and I think that Jackie’s size is gonna really work [...] One of the metaphors [...] I’ve used for Freddy is a little rabid dog that just bites your ankle and holds on. [...] And I think Jackie brings that, with his own physicality, to the role, without ever having to work it a little bit. [...] He brings that naturally with who he is, which I think is really part of the way I see it."— Robert Englund on Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger.

I know many are tired of remakes and reeboots...but I think due to Haley's casting...I think this movie actually shows a lot of promise.

Well, it looks pretty much like all of the originals, so I guess it won't be that bad.
    But was this really necessary?

            Yean, I know, but still...
It'd be cool if they came up with some original ideas for a change

Jackie was also on Shazam! for an episode. I can't remember now, but he was in a lot of stuff from the '70's. When I saw him on Shazam! I couldn't believe it. It was right after I saw Wathcmen.

Sorry to bring this up again
We just got in the latest trailers for this at work.
Jackie is great and glad to see him moving up in the world.
I think I'm going to pass on this one.

Never really been a Freddie fan. I liked the first Nightmare and that was about it.
