There is a foreign horror film out that is definitely worth checking out. It's called MARTYRS, I believe it's french but I am not sure. I saw it listed on some website as the #1 Halloween movie for 2009. I located it online and I thought it was really good. It's not your normal fare when it comes to horror. If anyone has seen it, please give me your opinion of the film.

thought the film was way over hyped. The plot (without spoiling) worked great for the first half of the film. When the change occurs it just did not fly so much with me and kind of fell flat. Seemed more of a "lets see how visually disturbing we can make this" with a so so plot and kind of ridiculous twist

Yeah, the twist definitely comes from out of left field. That twist is the only thing that connected the movie to the title. Maybe if there had been two subplots in the first half of the movie, then they had made the full switch to the ending, it would have been more appealing to some. I enjoyed it though, sometimes I don't like to have everything all cut and dry...spelled out for me. Sometimes, I just want to be entertained without too much thinking. I remember my first thought after watching the movie..."Wow, that was f***ed up!!
