Awesome news. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

Wonder what the cover price will be?
I stopped buying a mag I was getting since 1984 when it went to $10 a pop recently.

Cool news, Forry would have been glad to see that.
Good point, I haven't bought a magazine in years, the prices just started getting too ridiculous. Damn thing would probably have a cover price of at least $10 in Canada so I'll probably have to pass.

Yeah this particular book I was talking about is called Collectible Automobile and it's really a spectacular mag about classic cars. Comes out bi-monthly and usually full color with glossy paper pages but when it went to $9.95 on a recent issue I just had to draw the line and placed it back on the rack.
If I wasn't getting a deal on (new) comics outrageous cover prices I'd be hard pressed to keep buying them as well. The lowest priced ones are now $3 US.
I'd be surprised if FM was less than $7 a pop. I wonder if the old format will be used? (b&w newsprint and thick mag) or if it'll be a thin over-priced shadow of itself?
While it sounds great to the kid in me; the money-conscious adult in me is doing the thinking nowadays.
Sometimes the past just can't be repeated. They don't call them Glory Days for nothing.

but Forry was the heart of it and trying to capture that is not going to be an easy task.. God I hope they really don't **** this up and turn it into another Fangoria"What motivated him to throw a puppy at the Hells Angels is currently unclear,"

Let's hope they don't put it too much modern horror, with plenty of attention to the old classics.
Could be a fun read.
I miss FJA, he really educated us in classic horror.
I still collect old FMs, and read them for cover to cover..

I love old FM's. Some of my older issues were actually bought from Forry himself. What a nice man he was and much missed!!For the rules of the road have been lodged, it's peoples games you have to dodge- Bob DylanComment

From what I understand it's going to be a quarterly collectible mag. Not sure what the editorial focus will be, but I've been saying for years that it would be business suicide to just focus on the old stuff. They're gonna have to pay attention to contemporary monster material in order to stay relevant beyond the 50+ crowd.
I am, however, ecstatic that this is no longer in Ray Ferry's hands.Comment
