    OIP - 2025-10-03T204447.698.jpg
Something Wicked This Way Comes is a 1983 American dark fantasy horror film directed by Jack Clayton and produced by Walt Disney Productions, from a screenplay written by Ray Bradbury, based on his 1962 novel of the same name. It stars Jason Robards, Jonathan Pryce, Diane Ladd and Pam Grier.

In a small American town, a diabolical circus and its demonic proprietor prey on the townsfolk.

Thanks for the heads up! I was surprised it wasn't on Disney Plus at launch. I have a soft spot for this movie. We watched this movie in English class around Halloween... probably 6th or 7th grade.

Repeated HBO viewings in the '80s, one of my favorites.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Great to know it's finally on Disney Plus. I got the DVD from the Disney Movie Club (RIP) a few years back and watched it with my daughter. It's an odd film for sure, but I enjoy it. Way darker than a kids movie would normally be, but also sweeter than an average horror. I hope they add the original Watcher in the Woods too!

I've always enjoyed this movie, has the unnerving factor that most "scary" movies tend to lack.

My first time seeing this. I think I might've started the audio book at some point but never finished or probably even gotten halfway.
Overall, I enjoyed it but my 10 year old didn't really appreciate the slow burn, ah well. Its always great seeing Jason Robards show up in anything, dude does world weary soul better than anyone lol. And i felt that i could relate a bit with the some of the themes touched on like fatherhood later in life, feeling old vs being old and regrets in life.
