AND... I have received many an email since February soliciting tickets for sale, so that may tell me that the sales are NOT there as last year when Gojira -1 was hottt!!!

So with that said, if you're going enjoy if you can. I will be either at work getting OT or in bed sleeping in! HAHA!

I had planned to go this year, but got busy with life. I have went many times in the past. Not too many great guests or anything this year although I wanted to go to the Godzilla 1985 panel and they had some cool Ultraman stuff.

It seems that the move to the new venue a few years ago plus the explosion of the new Godzilla movies has caused the convention to grow in size. I guess that's a good thing in general, but I find it a bit odd to see huge lines and stuff for G-Fest.

It was never a super small affair, but I dunno I did like it because it wasn't huge and crowded. It's always been a bit haphazard in how it ran (panels notoriously started late and instead of pushing panels longer they would just end them early which frustrated me to no end in years past) but I generally had no complaints. I guess I'll see about next year.

Sorry you didn't go. I could not stand the way JD and his people act. A lot of dealers do not come to this show anymore and those who do, don't want to bad mouth JD and his bullying tactics, cause they make a lot of $$$$$$$$$ at the show.

As for guests, look at it this way. August Ragone, is a top of the line author when it comes to Kaiju book and he only made ONE appearance at G fest. When we talked I could tell he did NOT want to be there!

Actor ROBERT SCOTT FIELD (from Gojira V. King Ghidorah would come for YEARS and hang, mingle with the people, do panels, act as official TRANSLATOR to Guests from Nippon and he has NOT been seen since 2019! What happened. No one wants to talk about it.

And let me add he did a LOT setting up those G-Tours over the year getting the tourists access to TOHO studios.

With all due respect to her, but; I mean having LINDA MILLER (from King Kong Escapes) come to G Fest for THREE YEARS in a ROW is a bit over kill,, how many times can she answer the same questions???? Plus she was also interviewed in G Fan magazine before she ever set foot into the con.

There have been some heavy hitters over the years but JD and now his daughter Peyton are in it to make a buck, I remember back in 1994 when all this started and it was a good show. But now, they are flogging a Dead Horse. I have no plans to go next year, and unless I am in a Generous mood, I will only go for one day. Time will tell.
