    Ideal Dracula versus Remco

You guys may have talked about this before in the past - - - but I recently came across a completed eBay auction for an Ideal Dracula. We all know the Ideal Universal Monsters were essentially the same as the Remco Universal Monsters many of us have in our collections. Notably, this auction claimed that the figure had never been removed from the inner packaging and he had on what appeared to be a high top army type boot, as opposed to the shorter ankle high boot that my Remco Count Dracula is sporting. Check out the pictures here: Vintage Remco Ideal DRACULA Action Figure Boxed MIB - eBay (item 360192323531 end time Nov-02-09 12:43:47 PST).

Does anybody have an Ideal Count Dracula that is sporting a similar pair of boots? If not, has anybody seen anything like this before.

Also, is it just me or is the face sculpt colored somewhat differently than the Remco version? The Remco version can be found here: Auctiva Image Hosting

Yeah, not cheap. Not sure how long the Ideal versions were actually available. My assumption was for a more limited time than the Remco counterpart. That may explain the high price on the Ideal version.

I have the Ideal catalog somewhere and the figures pictured are just the same as the Remco, what intrigues more than the boots (which look like Action Man boots BTW) is the colouring around the mouth.

Right, the mouth coloring seems much more than a camera lighting issue - but I haven't seen enough of the Ideal Dracs to know if this is anomaly or a true difference in head paint. He looks a little more "fearsome" with that coloring.

He looks really close to the Remco Drac I've got. I don't like the GIJoe Action Pilot boots though, JOHN

Mine looks pretty darn close too..except for the price tag.

man the best part of that line is the box art. Ya gotta love it!

Was the box art different for Remco and Ideal? I always thought I had the Remco version, but that box looks damn familiar...that boots, however, look like knock-off G.I. Joe boots. They seem like a strange choice for Dracula no matter who is releasing him. Looks fishy to me -
