Did George Romero rip-off Damnation Alley

Was just watching Damnation Alley last night and noticed Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead and Land of the Dead all have elements of D.A. in them.

It's like whenever Romero wanted to do a new Dead movie he went back to D.A. for more inspiration

    Dawn of the Dead ...
The empty casino scenes reminded me of the mall

    Day of the Dead ...
Military guys surviving the holocust in a military bunker

    Land of the Dead ...
    Landmaster aka Dead Reckoning

The Landmaster vehicle indeed looked a lot like the one in LOTD, but the design is so sensible, you could just say that common sense will eventually lead everybody to a similar design.
