I just can't look at this movie as being scary at all. All I kept thinking was how the movie had all of the comic overtones of Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness....I loved it! I think I smiled throughout the whole movie....not the effect you want to have at a horror film, I think? I was extremely entertained....which is the purpose of movies; to help me not think about what is going on outside the movie theater walls.

Very similar in tone to Raimi's Evil Dead series...campy...but scary...great combo...lol.

      Yes...the toothless gypsy woman was gold...great character...lol.

I watched the unrated version while I was eating Chinese... My recommendation is not to duplicate my experience... Great movie but not one you can eat and watch...especially Chinese.

I believe their is only a few seconds extra on the non-rated version.

          POSSIBLE SPOILERS:
I think it's just the shot of her killing the kitty - you don't see anything in either version - it's almost a point of view shot of the cat as she slashes at it with a knife. You do see the blood hit her shirt - the stain Justin Long comments on after she's buried it.

          More Spoilers:
Is it just me, or does Alison Lohman and Justin Long have the least amount of chemistry together in film history? Less than Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci in Casino even. Maybe it was done on purpose so you're not suppose to be too heartbroken at the end. I was totally baffled when Long brought her home after she was attacked in the parking garage - what friend, let alone boyfriend wouldn't spend the night?

Their sexual awkwardness was pretty amusing actually, especially after the end - I just wonder, did anyone else think the same thing I did?

I ususally dont go for "victims' when my buddys go autograph hunting at conventions, but a picture of the old woman puppet trying to gum her to death would be worth the 20 bucks.

I dont remember anything about the chemistry so I have to say yes.

I was bothered out of all her hallucinations they didnt do anything with her former weight problem issues.

I would have liked to see a Simpsons Homer in Hell " SO you like donuts do ya?' kind of thing.

Took my 16-year-old daughter to see it (PG13) and was surprised to see myself jump a few times. She loved it!
