Weeeeeeeell... yes, you're right. The Original Alien is probably better suited to halloween. And don't get me wrong, I like "Alien".

But I honestly always found that film to be a bit overrated and slow-paced.

Even judged as a horror film, I find aspects of "Aliens" creepier, more suspenseful, and downright more INTENSE than "Alien" (Re: The marines stumbling upon the alien nest full of cocooned colonists... and one victim still alive... Ripley and Newt being trapped in a locked room with a pair of scurrying facehuggers... Ripley's rescue of a cocooned Newt deep in the Alien nest, followed by their confrontation with an angry Queen Alien...)

It's that INTENSITY that I think works well for Halloween.

I don't think anyone's mentioned Disney's animated Sleepy Hollow from "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad". When the networks always ran the Disney Halloween special every year, it was always included. It was years before I knew it came from a movie, grouped with the Mr. Toad segment.

I watched it last night! Great stuff.

No, I like cheesy B movies as well. I love the Hammer Dracula flicks. And my favorite is the one that usually gets called the worst. Dracula A.D. 1972!
