I bought this on HD DVD for dirt cheap months ago but haven't checked it out yet. Reviews say it looks good but not amazing. I'm not sure if the Blu-ray uses the same HD transfer as the HD DVD or not, sometimes Universal likes to mess with the transfers.

the transfer is a step up from its HDDVD predecessor from what the review states. We can still expect some of the early scenes (opening credits, moors) to have some grain.
However, on my HD predecessor, I saw things I never noticed before. I'm more excited for the "Beware the Moon" documentary and the few minutes we get with Rick Baker as he talks transformation and the new Wolfman show due next Feb.

Yeah, considering the film's budget, the cheaper film stock often used during this era, and the amount of dark scenes in the film, I'm not expecting it to look eye-popping, but I'm sure it's better looking than the regular DVD. That documentary on the Blu-ray looks interesting, too bad it wasn't on the HD DVD, but dammit, I'm not gonna double dip.

did receive my package from Amazon on Saturday. The two new features I was wanting to see were pretty cool. Nice to see a good chunk of the actors and production team in interviews.
I haven't had time to check it all out yet, but the movie transfer looks very comparable to the HDDVD version.
