A better question is why the hell Harker staked the female vampire first when he had Dracula trapped and helpless?!

Considring the actresses, I think it'd be tough to aim any higher and not jump the film up a rating level.

Yes. It's even funnier as the director strives to give the viewer even MORE gratuitous cleavage shots in subsequent sequels. I guess in some ways Hammer films were my introduction to the female anatomy as a kid.
    That and Benny Hill...

I watched "Horror of Dracula" last night. It's been quite a while since I watched the entire movie. It still holds up very well. I like how Lee's Dracula is just one evil bastitch, he only vaguely tries to act otherwise when Harker arrives. He's animalistic take on the Count really works, he comes across as something more than human.

As a big Batman fan, I've long read that Neal Adams took some cues from the way Lee worked his cape in drawing Batman. It's evident here!

Of course the movie takes HUGE liberties with the novel, but it still works.

One question; Why do the vampire hunters always stake the female vamps in the stomach in these Hammer flicks? They put the stake right below the breasts. Shouldn't they be aiming a bit higher? Maybe they just can't bring themselves to destroy the nice cleavage?

I went to one local Target, and they had no sign of this. The other store in town is smaller, so I didn't figure they'd have it. They did! I'm watching me some Dracula tonight! Thanks for the heads up!

I only have one of those films on DVD, so I'd pay that to get the other three I need. I'll have to check out the local Target next time. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, I saw those there a few months ago and if I didn't already have 2 of them I would've bought it.

Hopefully we'll see a lot of good old horror flicks on DVD with Halloween fast approaching.

I found mine in the television section where they always have their special discounted movies in the isles (right by the Bu-rays). These are not with the regular movies against the walls. If that makes sense.
