Creature Double Feature

Anyone here a fellow Creature Double Feature fan? For those yung uns here that do not know what that is, there was a TV station out of Baltimore that ran low budget horror and sci-fi flicks on Saturday afternoons back in the 70's. They would broadcast 2 movies back to back and they had a host, much like Elvira, I forget what his name was. They used to have a website for fans and still might. It changed over the years and I didn't keep up. I have very fond memories of sitting with my Grandmother on Saturdays watching both movies with a bowl of munchies and a 6 pack of Coke. After reading the chat boards on the club site, I was amazed at how many fans watched it with their Grandmothers! My grandmother also bought me my first Mego figure. So, for all of you fans...

Well I dont know about Baltimore version but I know The creature double feature that aired on channel 56 (boston).
It was that show that turned me into the horror obsessed adult I am today.

You are correct. My bad. It was Boston. I am reading Tom Clancy's "Without Remorse" which takes place mostly in Baltimore, so that's was on my mind when I was typing!

I was just discussing this sort of thing with a few friends:

I haven't seen this sort of show in years! "Chiller Drive In" is REALLY low budget, and unevenly done.... but it does have it's moments. So I'm wondering if this is gonna be the "next big thing" again. The 80's SHOULD be coming to an end again in the next few years' meaning another round of the 70's.... Any of you guys seen this sort of thing around your places?

Chiller drive in looks pretty cool. Very Creature Double Feature ish. Do you live close by that you can get the station over the air or is that channel on your cable package?

TV20 is a local station, and I"ve seen a few episodes of the show. It's not bad; lots of potential. And I gotta give 'em props for finding some obscure movies.

Yup! I remember watching it with my dad. Very fond memories indeed. Channel 56 was great for lots of awesome sci-fi cartoons too like Battle of the Planets and Force Five. I think it was also that channel that might have aired Abbott and Costello movies for a while on Saturday nights back in the '70's.
Anyway, for me it was grilled cheese, pop-corn and fruit salad while watching it. Hey, I was a kid and liked "kid food".
Creature Double Feature will live in my memories forever!

Yes I remember creature feature. Have very fond memories of watching it on saturdays with my two older brothers. Remember when I watched lazer blast for the first time on creature feature. One of my all time favorite movies when I was a kid.

CDF was a huge inlfuence on me. When all the kids were outside playing on Saturday, no matter what was going on, I HAD to be in front of the tv by noon time to start my Saturday afternoon monster fix.
As a result, I was the kid at the drug store magazine rack buying the newest copies of Famous monsters of filmland, Fangoria (still buy it), Creepy, Eerie, and/or anything else I could get my hands on.
As an adult I now have a library of over 3000+ films from cheesy to blockbuster. My favorite CDF film that is now one of my favorite "B" movies is the Brain that wouldn't die.

I guess there is talk about bringing the show back!?

Yes, let's hope they succeed in reviving the show. My favorite flick from the CDF run is Dracula vs. Frankenstein. I still break it out and watch it from time to time. My wife still shakes her head over my low budget horror movie addiction, especially when I break out all of the 70's Hammer vampire flicks with Chris Lee and spend a weekend watching them back to back! Good times!
