    Ghostbusters 3

So I know there hasn't too much news of late on this , and any that has popped up is realitively new, and sketchy , but I was curious of what others think of a third installment. Personally I always reserve my opinion until I see the film. I am going into this with a wait and see attitude What does everyone else think ?

its gonna be huge Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis wrote it together I think Harold is going to direct a giant plus. Ivan Reitman is busy producing at the moment I heard he read the script and loved it its just he has no time right now. they have everyone back Including Bill Murray he was the last holdout but Dan's Script changed his mind with a quickness they start filming this fall/winter set for late summer next year release Im very excited. the new generation does not even know what a Ghostbuster is they will learn!

Last news I heard they had the guys from the Office writing it not Dan or Harold. And every thing I have hear so far is that this will be a passing of the torch kind of movie where they will be old and new kids (probably the Seth Rogan Crew) will be the new recruits with the old busters being to old to go busting any more. I heard another rumor that they scrapped GB3 and they are calling the game as close to a third installment as we'll ever get. I am hopeful for the movie but they have been toying with me for years now so we'll see if it ever gets made. It seems ever two years or so I hear about them doing a new GB movie.

I have heard the game was supposed to be the closest to a third film, and Bill Murrary after hearing the details of the plot , and working on the game has agreed to do another live acton film. I am sure more details are forthcoming. I am interested to see how it will be done.

Here is the latest I have heard....

On September 4, 2008, Columbia Pictures signed on Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (writers for the U.S. version of The Office) to script a third film. The story will feature old and new Ghostbusters. Ramis had collaborated with Eisenberg and Stupnitsky on Year One. Aykroyd revealed Murray, Weaver and Ernie Hudson will reprise their roles. Murray agreed to reprise the part if Hudson's was expanded to equal the other three leads. Ramis said in June 2009, "I know all the guys want to come back except for [Rick] Moranis, who's disappeared. Not disappeared physically. But he's not too interested in entertainment at this time". Filming may begin in late 2009. Aykroyd also revealed there would be numerous Ghostbuster cadets in the sequel, and suggested Eliza Dushku (a friend of his who has "great comedy chops" and "might be a good villainess") for a role, or Alyssa Milano (who plays Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn in the 2009 video game). In mid-2009, Sony Pictures launched a "Ghostbusters Is Hiring" website to promote the film. Ramis added that Milano would not be the only aspect of the game that may be in the film, telling an interviewer his idea for where Egon would be in the 21st century: "He's been working in the International Institute for Imaginary Science in Geneva, [having] evolved a post-rational non-conclusive logic for dealing with problems of chaos. He's gone so abstract, even he doesn't know what he's been doing!" Aykroyd has said that Ghostbusters: The Video Game could be the closest thing to the third Ghostbusters movie but still plans on making the third film. He was also interviewed in the June 2009 issue of UK Official Xbox Magazine in which he revealed that "Because we’re talking about a third Ghostbusters film and the script is being written , I have very clear ideas about where Egon is. The only hint I’ll give you is that he’s moved past the physical plane of reality – he’s almost entirely on the ethereal plane.

In June, 2009, Sigourney Weaver stated that she doesn't expect to be in the third Ghostbusters movie. Speaking to scifisquad.com, the actress said "No, I don't expect to have anything to do with it, although I wish them well".
