    FEAST

    So;

    I saw this film the other day. It's not neccessarily a GOOD film, but it's durned entertaining. A bunch of folks are trapped in abar by a group of monsters.

    It was funny 'cos they did these weird character intros, where they'd freeze on a character and provide a writeup. Stuff like:

    HEROINE 2
    Occupation: Wears tank-tops
    Life Expectancy: Hopefully better than the last one

    They also break with a lot of the traditons of who dies and when in a monster movie.

    I did enjoy the unpredictability of the film in regards to who would buy it next and how they played with the audience with the onscreen "stats". Entertaining entry in the "Spam in a Can" genre.

    Avoid the sequel at all costs. Feast 2 is unwatchable.

      ie. The dude that bust through the bar room door and says "I'm the guy that going to save all your @sses!" Good stuff, not a GREAT film but definitely a very enjoyable one! I haven't seen 2 and 3 yet but they are on my list.

        I didn't even realize they made a third entry.

        Worth double the price of admission just to see "McSteamy" from Gray's Anatomy die horribly. I kind of wished the entire film was him suffering humiliation after painful humiliation. That would have been a great romp and another play against type.

        I do remember at the start of the film wondering a bit about the seemingly oddball casting given that Balthazar Getty and Krista Allen were the biggest "names" in the film, yet played the character-cliches most likely to die early in a horror film (the "selfish jerk" and the "****" respectively). But ignoring that, it does flip things on it's ear in an enjoyable fashion, especially juxtaposing the fate of the kid with his "stats".

          I agree, a pretty good horror film but nothing fantastic. Have no real desire to see the sequels though.

              I loved Feast, I'm disappointed to hear the sequal sucks. Had the chance to buy one of the screen used monsters from the film, but lost out at around $500. Was cool though, about 6 feet tall. I thought both Feast and Slither were the best monster films made in years.

                Slither was a great old fashioned Romp. Great throwback to something from my youth, like the original Tremors.

                  My wife and I were scrolling on Demand the other night and "Feast 3" was one of our choices. I made a comment "I never knew there was a Feast one" and since then it's been on TV several times and now you guys are talking about it, weird how that works.

                    Henry Rollins had a fun part in it as well.

                    Anyone watch Project Greenlight? It should be noted that Feast was one of the films developed out of that.
