I took my spouse to see the bad guy from Chronicles of Riddick performing Macbeth and Cyrano de Bergerac at the Stratford Festival this weekend.
The Forever Knight was playing Duncan, and at intermission, she admitted to me that she had gone to a Forever Knight convention as a teenager during her "Goth" phase. Now I already knew about her deep dark secret of being closet Trekkie during pubescence (and her misadventures at a Toronto Trek), but this one was new! We've been together close to a decade, she won't step inside a comic book convention or toy show, but has been to a FOREVER KNIGHT convention of all things!
Not having ever seen the show, I know I will be watching hours and hours of it if I decide to surprise her with a DVD boxset of Forever Knight.
So... is this show worth getting?
My caveat is that I had seen the Nick Night pilot movie with Rick Springfield, and didn't think much of it at the time. But I would imagine it's akin to judging Linda Carter's Wonder Woman TV show based on the Cathy Lee Crosby pilot. So I'm willing to keep an open mind, especially since The Forever Knight delivered a great performance in Canstage's live theatrical Elephant Man last year.
