Wow,surprisingly good flick,Had me hooked after ten minutes in.I laughed my butt off with the I think unintentional deliverance reference in the first three minutes.
It had a very seventies vibe to it.

The movie is set in 1982. They don't go out of their way to make it that obvious, but there are some clues dropped here and there.

          Then there you go.
They made me feel like I was in a late 70's era flick so mission accomplished.
I like films like that. Two thumbs up says the saviour.

The more I think about it the movie kinda reminded me of "Innocent blood".

I have had a bootleg for about a year ... Freakin amazing movie. Just got DVD from Amazon, which has dubbed and subtitles.
New movie based on book, which is better than movie, from director of Cloverfield.

I finally got to see it. It was very good. Definitely a unique mix of childhood romance and vampire movie.

I was really looking forward to this film, but got bored halfway through and started playing Callof Duty 5.

SEMI SPOILER ALERT!!!!!DON"T READ IF YOU'VE NOT SEEN YET!!

I did'nt want to spoil this for anyone who has'nt seen it but it's not really spoiling it's more adding a layer the film doesn't explain and it's been out a while now,so...
Did you all get that she's(Eli) not really a girl?

                              -Diagonal scar across crotch

-"wd you still like me if i wasn't a girl?"

-Oskar"What are you?" Eli"the same as you"
Also Eli's face occasionally morphs into a man's and so does her voice.

I got the book and my suspicions were confirmed. She's a castrated BOY who's 250+ years old.
If you like the movie...read the novel. It's better and sheds more light!!

Yeah, I looked it up to find out the explanation. They probably should have left that out since there's no explanation to the scar in the movie. It's just a head scratcher. I guess they were originally going to put flashbacks in the movie but decided not to.
