On the other board that I go to, the basic consensus of all the people
involved in the thread (that have seen it)
is that if you are a F13 fan at all---then it is a "must see"."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I saw the movie yesterday. I have the agree with the review. It if you like gore and naked girls (and who doesn't??) then it's a must see. The movie definitely tried to give us all what we want in a horror movie.
In the original 13th- there was a scene where Jason hangs one of his victims on the coat rack in the hallway. In this one- they pay homage to that scene which I thought was a nice touch.
Anyway, go see it for yourself and then give us your review!!

I just saw this. It was a lot of fun.
I enjoyed many of the Fridays, especially the sixth.
I like to see franchises evolve, but they should never
cease to be what they started out being.
This was just like the old days.
Again, not to sound like an old crank, but...
the horror movies the kids watch today are too cruel.Comment

A bit too much for me, too real.
I like my horror a little bit more "fantasy oriented". If I want stark horror, I'll watch the news.....

Hey, maybe they can do a Friday the 13th sitcom?
Jason decides to settle down and raise some "very disturbed" kids.
Now and then, when his kids get bad grades, Jason goes into psycho mode again, and chops up the math teacher.
For the pilot, I'd let the cast of Friends return and be chopped up by old Jason.
Joey: "Hey, how YOU doing?"
Jason: "CHOP!"
Chandler: "Can you BE any more freakish?"
Jason: "SLASH!"
I mean, who wouldn't want to decimate the cast of Friends?.

Me too, especially the Hostel series. For me, what makes those movies actually "scary" is the fact that you could easily read about stuff like that happening in the real news today.
I mean, killers that go on rampages that keep coming back from the dead is lots of fun and very entertaining but in the end, you walk away "entertained"
- not scared.

Well, I've been an unwilling participant in violence in real life (aka The Victim), and believe me, once you had the "real thing", make-believe zombies are much more appealing than "stuff that is so real you can taste it".
I've stood face-to-face with a guy with a knife, threatening to kill me and burn down my house, so that kind of made me lose my taste for the extreme.
I've also noticed that, as you get older and people around you die (like your parents), "death" kind of loses its "entertainment value".
But to each his own. I like a little moderation, and Jason seems to be my limit these days....

Thanks. It was easy. The people in the movie theatre were odd enough to provide ample inspiration!.

So far no one has mentioned that in the original first film, the mother was the murderer. Jason didn't pop up until the final shot of the movie, and he was clearly a zombie child.
How does the new movie address these matters, if at all?Comment
