What was your fav Bands back in the day ?

The first album thread got me thinking ......
What was your top 5 fav musical groups/performers back in the day ?
As you know, over time (today) sometimes tastes change.
    Thought this might be interesting.

My "back in the day" would be the 70's
At the time, my top fav's were

    Lynyrd Skynyrd
    Beatles
    Chicago
    Bee Gees
    The Guess Who

    Elvis
    AC/DC
    KISS
    George thoroughgood
    Charlie Daniels

It's a strange mix I know but, I liked em all.

My "back in the day" would have been the late 70's thru the 80's.

      AC/DC
      KISS
      Firehouse
      Motley Crue
      Dokken
      Van Halen
      Iron Maiden
      Tesla
      Great White
      Ratt
      Poison

I know I left out "alot". I could go on......Although I believe you get the idea. As you can see mostly the "big hair" bands.
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

I was mostly into rock and progressive stuff and still am to a lesser degree today. Here are my all-time favs from years past

Styx - both pre and post Tommy Shaw. DeYoung is my favorite vocalist ever.
Kansas - I love Steve Walsh and liked a lot of Elephante
Journey - A little poppy toward the end of the Perry era
Triumph - Rik Emmit is a huge musical inspiration for me

Now I'm huge into prog metal and juist metal in general.

Back in the day (70s), my mom only listened to a radio station which played Big Band...so I guess Glenn Miller & his Orchestra.

              And some Bee Gees.

The first "artist" I clicked back in the day was Elton John. Still a fan of that era EJ stuff.

I'm gonna assume you mean back in my Mego days. My taste definitely has changed since I was 7, but my first bands that I sought out-

The Monkees (TV influenced everything and still does)
KISS (I even joined the army)
Elton John ('Crocodile Rock' was everywhere)
Simon and Garfunkel (my mom's fault)
                          WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.
