    Your Local Olympic Hero!!!

Our local Olympic hero is LoLo Jones.

LoLo is the Olympic star who was expected to win the 110m hurdles but clipped the last hurdle and ended up 7th. It was crushing to her (and the fans here in Baton Rouge). She is a LSU track star, and has a fascinating story of her life. She was homeless at one time.

Who is your local olympic star? Everyone in Maryland, we know who your's is, ole Michael Phelps!!!

BTW, what do you get when you mix 1/4 Black, 1/4 French, 1/4 American Indian, and 1/4 Norwegian?

    You get something like this:

This is her seconds after the race, in disbelief!!!

There is one other I know of, Richard Thompson (he ran for Trinidad). He took second in the 100m dash. He is a LSU track star as well:

LSU is probably the greatest Track & Field school in the nation with 31 national championships (30 of them since 1987) in both Woman's and Men's indoor and outdoor T&F.

I was going to say Phelps from Baltimore, MD, but you beat me to it. I believe there is a female swimmer who also won some medals who is also from the same swim club in Baltimore.

I will add Freddy Adu to the list. He played for the U.S. men's National team in the Olympics but grew up in suburban Maryland.

BTW, I agree with Damien, LoLo has startling good looks

Oakland had boxer Andre Ward...he won the gold medal for Oakland, CA. at the 2004 Olympics.

          Now he's a pro contender.
