Saw an ad this afternoon with William Shatner for some local law firm. Is he doing this for any other law firms?

He's doing them for a big law firm in Lexington KY too. A few years ago they had Robert Vaughn. Now this was before Vaughn was on that show on AMC, so I thought maybe he was slumming, and really needed the work. Obviously, Shatner doesn't need the cash, as he's got a regular gig on Boston Legal as well as the high-profile Priceline gig. Kind of odd.
The Lee Majors "Bionic" hearing aid one kind of makes me sad. There is a difference between hocking a product (like Lindsay Wagner and her Sleep Number Bed ads) and trading on your past characters like ol' Steve Austin is doing.

I'm sure he'll hawk anything for the right price.
We have a really cheezy chain of used car dealerships around here called Eastern Motors which seems to be marketed to individuals that have really bad credit.
There is a really stupid jingle hip-hop song and I see Washington Redskin players in most of the commercials lip syncing to the stupid songs. I remember for sure that Lavar Arrington was in one a few years ago and I saw one recently with Clinton Portis in it and can't for the life of me understand why they would appear in such a lame commercial. My best guess is that there is someone affiliated with the Redskins who owns Eastern Motors. I can't imagine that they are being paid much for the commercials based on the low budget look of them."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

As someone who listens to the Washington area sports radio, I now have that awful jingle stuck in my head
I remember just around the time Galactica went off the air Lorne Greene was in two commercials one was for Alpo or something like that where he was back in his Bonanza days all fit and riding a horse. The other was for a life insurance and he was hunched in a chair with a cardigan on telling folks that no pre-exam was necessary. It's all good!Comment
