As a fan of both musicians I think Paul does a decent job. Paul is in his mid 60's and can sing whatever the hell he wants, he has earned that right. BTW, I love Jet, Give Ireland back to the Irish, and Uncle Albert. Not as much as a lot of John's stuff but still.

More power to Paul. Fans want to hear those songs and I am sure he loves the songs as much as anyone. The Beatles may have ended in a bad way but I'm certain those guys all loved each other no matter what. They wer elike family and I've never met a family that didn't fight or bicker.
I loved the Beatles and if I got to see Paul, I'd love to hear those songs. It would be cool if Julian would do some with him too.Comment

I think if he did a tribute album to Lennon doing nothing but Lennon's songs would be fine. They where like brothers for good or bad, he knew John better than anyone so why not. It's better than some of the hacks that are covering the tunes now.Comment

To me, it is John Lennon then George Harrison then Paul McCartney and sometimes Ringo Starr when it comes to solo preference for me.
Some of George Harrison's albums are underrated and some really great music going on. The ones I play the most of George Harrison's are...
All Things Must Pass
I love this album. My Mom played it a lot when I was a kid. So it sorta is the soundtrack to my early mego playing land era. I played the **** out of this record when I finally got my very own record player that was professional looking and wasn't some cheap piece of crap with a Disney Character on it.

George Harrison (Self titled) You can't beat the song "Faster" I was going to redo the song and make a collage of my step father's racing videos for him as a birthday present.
Somewhere In England This baby came out after Lennon was shot, it features the classic "All Those Years Ago" I played the heck out of this when it came out in the early 80s and I kept playing it for a long time.
Cloud Nine One of the first albums I bought on cassette as a kid. It was George Harrison's return to the record world. He dropped out for some time. You can't beat the classics, "Got MY Mind Set On You" and the best one, "When We Was Fab"
Brainwashed (sad, he never got to finish this album but I still love it). With his son Dhani at the helm with producer Jeff Lynn formerly of ELO. They basically finished George's album he couldn't finished (well, because he was dead). Dhani never did reveal where his voice is on the backup tracks and he claimed he added his voice on some parts that were missing vocal tracks. He sounds so much like his father, you can't tell. It was a brilliant way these two collided to finish George's last album and get it out to the public. The one song that stands out most is the now classic, "Pieces Fish" and of course, "Any Road." I love this album!!
Of course now, I own everything on CD audio. Took me awhile to replace everything. I got all my record albums in storage. They take up half the wall in the storage shed. I am gonna have to go through it one day.Last edited by Cosmicman; Aug 18, '08, 7:03 PM.More custom Mego madness on Facebook right here...

I don't know any Beatles fans who would be angry in the slightest at Paul for singing so-called "John" songs. I certainly don't feel that way, Yoko doesn't appear to feel that way, and from the posts in this thread so far no sincere fan -- of whom the MM has many -- feels that way. Here's another instance of media reporting the opinion of one or two crackpots as though it belonged to the majority, or was in any way significant.Comment

That is really hard to put a price and rank on all the great solo stuff.

I love George's solo work, as well. I agree, "Brainwased" is a great album.
Check out this recently shot video of his son Dhani in a NYC music store singing and playing guitar. Interviewed, also.

Yeah, what you guys have said.
George was always my favourite. He was cool, and his sense of spirituality appealed to me as a pre-teen (and now as an adult, too). Out of all the Beatles, I think (and many experts agree) that Paul was the most accomplished musician of the 4. I remember reading a review that named Paul as one of the premier Rock Bassists. That comment drew a lot of heated debate, but I do believe that it's true.
Even Ringo, the "least talented" of the group was gifted with way more than his fair share of musicality.90, Joe 90.... Great Shakes : Milk Chocolate -- Shaken, not Stirred.Comment
