Not at of the realm of possibility. I did not think the Packers would go as far as they did last year and you really have to credit a lot of that to Favre's leadership. It will be fun, that's for sure.

That division is the Vikings to lose. Not saying Chicago can't win the division, but it is highly unlikely.

And who is going to QB that offense? Sure, you can hand off to All-Day Peterson, but at some point you have to throw the ball. Tavaris Jackson (isn't he their #1 QB? - I might be wrong on that) cannot throw the ball. It's that simple. Plus, as talented as Peterson is, he's not the most durable back in the world (see college career and rookie season). Chester Taylor is an outstanding backup RB and they'll need him to not get disgruntled due to lack of touches.

Love the Vikings defense this year, but I think they're going to get worn down around week 11 or so after teams start throwing 8 men in the box on pretty much every play. I see a lot of 3-and-outs for the Vikes and a tired, frustrated Defense because of it.

Everyone seems to be conceding the division to the Vikes this year, but I'm definitely not sold. Even if I wasn't a die-hard Bears fan, I would have my doubts on that team.

Seriously, tell me the difference between the Bears and the Vikings this year. Both have great Defenses and suspect offenses. The Vikings have a Pro-Bowl RB in Peterson and a scrub QB in Jackson. The Bears have a rookie RB and a combination scrub/former Pro-Bowl QB in Grossman. The Vikings have better receivers, but nobody to throw to them.

It will be fun to see which 9-7 team takes the division. Could be any of the 4 teams.

The Redskins will be the darkhorse this year....I can feel it. Ok, I say it every year and it never happens but what is one to do in one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL?

Oh right, this is a thread about Brett Favre. Never have been a Packers fan but I have a lot of respect for him. I don't know what happened behind closed doors and initially I thought it was inappropriate for him to come out of retirement and leave Green Bay in a bit of a bind. But maybe then again, maybe his retirement wasn't his idea and he just went along.

I'm sure he has made more than enough money but I suspect it really doesn't have anything to do with money and more about his passion for the game. Whatever happened, it's really too bad that he will probably not end his career with the Packers. Maybe when he is done, they will sign him for one day so he can end his career as a Packer but then again, he seems pretty angry right now over what happened behind closed doors.

He is one of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game so it doesn't really bother me if he will be talked about all season. Anything to distract any talk about the Patriots again is fine by me.

Word is that now Chad Pennington will be picked up by Miami. The sports channels will promote that like crazy if he's there and he plays against the "Future Hall of Famer" who took his job.

Yep, Favre is on the cover of Madden 2009.

Supposedly, LaDanian Tomlinson was going to be on the 2008 cover but declined because of the curse although he won't admit to it.

It is strange that something always seems to happen to whoever is on the cover.
