Favre had the 6th highest QB rating in the league last year. He was one pass away from the Superbowl but got picked off in overtime of one of the coldest games in NFL history. He owns most of the NFL records at the position, and Green Bay pressured him into a decision a month after the Superbowl.

The simple fact is he could walk cold onto half of the NFL's teams and make them a better team. Green Bay should have either given him the position upon request, traded him to Minnesota if they didn't think he was up to the challenge, or released him altogether.

His ego has tainted a lot of what he accomplished in Green Bay. Do you think the Jets or the Bucs have a legit shot with Favre as the QB to go to the Super Bowl? Both teams would be lucky to win 9 games with or without Favre.

Either team would be a better team with him, that is for sure. And while there is little hope for the Jets no matter how much talent they ever accumulate, Tampa Bay made the playoffs last year. Sometimes that is all you need to do (ask the Patriots what I mean, and Green Bay, and Dallas, and Tampa Bay).

And I can't remember Favre running around and bragging about his records. When he is playing, he only talks about what is best for the team, how winning is more important than records, and is considered a true team leader. I wouldn't exactly put him in Randy Moss or Terrell Owens category of Ego. The worst thing he did was waffle on his future, which most players his age seem to do at the end of their careers (see Michael Strahan, who would probably be playing this year if not for the ring on his finger).

The Bucs will do better without Favre. They have a proven QB in Garcia, who took the team to the playoffs last year.

Don't kid yourself this is ego driven to a large degree (potentially on both sides). But the main problem I have with Favre is he has been holding Green Bay hostage for the past 3-4 years with the will he or won't he retire. Then he does and this crap starts up. I just think it's a shame and now regardless of where he goes that's all we're going to hear this year and like Owens it's already old.

lets don't forgetfor him to break most of these records he had to play longer than the qb's who owned them , he is a solid qb in the nfl as of last year but he has the most int's of any other qb ever and he had that record 2 years ago i think he had his best year last year i don't think he will be that good again , most teams in the nfl want a qb who can manage the team not a gun slinger like bret most coachs don't want to put the game on the qb shoulders any more they want ever body to do their job well

Favre got what he asked for and will quickly learn that age old lesson about getting what you ask for. It's going to get ugly...especially when Green Bay comes to Tampa Bay. Of course I'm happy to go ahead and register a win for the Cowboys at Texas stadium, since Favre has never won there.

Don't be surprised when the Jets win 3 or 4 more games this season. Any more than that, and the Jets could even be playoff bound. OK, even I'm laughing at that one.

Glad to see Farve go to the Jets. I think his ego has written a check he won't be able to cash

darn Jets! he was a steal for only a 4th round pick.but they had agree that if they trade him to the Vikings or Bears they would have to give GB 3 first round draft picks, smart move
