I wasn't dying or having a serious life threatening reaction. My lady was the one freaking out about my arm swelling up and I went to the ER just to make sure stuff was OK.
I don't think I need the Epi-Pen or anything like that. I think maybe I just have a minor irriatation to bee stings. It felt like a cigarette being burned on my arm.

I'm allergic, but my dad was a bee-keeper up until last year, so bees and I figured out our differences early on. I honestly can't remember the last time I was stung, maybe '86 or so. I remember I do swell up something fierce, and the pills knock me out almost immediately.
I carry a can of spray in the work truck, wasps love disconnect boxes and AC condenser units, but as long as you can remain calm they generally won't sting you.
I know I'm going to get stung tomorrow... the bees are monitoring my posts.Leave a comment:

Go see your Doctor, and have him write you a prescription for a EPI PEN. Its a self injector that will give you the medicine from going into anaphalactic shock if you get stung again and can't get to the ER in time.
My wife is allergic to Bees etc.. and we always make sure we have one with us, when we are outside.Leave a comment:

Anyone on here have an allergic reaction to the sting of a hornet, wasp or bee?
I never thought I was until today.
I am thirty-five years old and I am driving down the highway. A hornet flies into my window and stings my arm when I am driving. Immediately it starts burning like a mutha **ker. Holy damn!
I thought my arm was on fire!
By the time I got to my destination my whole entire arm was swelling up.
My girlfriend made me goto the ER and have it looked at. They got me some antibiotics and Benadryl.
How can I be allergic to something? I thought I was stung before when I was younger.
Wow.
My arm is feeling better but I still have a sore spot where the hornet actually stung me.
Toughen up...dammit!!!

I have heard that it's best to wait for dark to spray the nest, because at that time the hornets have come back and are asleep...so you can get the whole hive...but you have to make sure you cover your flashlight with a red film or they will attack. Spray the heck out of the nest and use the one the spray the Commander mentioned.
Nobody in our family is allergic to bees/wasps, but my eldest son is extremely allergic to peanuts and we need to have an epipen at home, school, and daycare.
A pediatrician told my friend that liquid Benadryl works faster than the chewable tablets...although the chewable tablets are easier to carry around. They also have the Benadryl thin melts now.Leave a comment:

LMAO!Use "Spectracide" Wasp & Hornet killer up to 27 FT Jet spray "Kills on contact!" Net Wt 15 oz (425 g), so that'll kill 'em in 1 second!
I have 3 of 'em in case.
The black wasp stung on my right under hand and had huge swollen, the color had purple/black and red spot where the wasp's needle stung at when I was 7 yrs old, my right hand look like a boxer's red glove sized.
I'm pretty allergic to the wasps and bees but the Hornet is worse!
Last weekend I walked to the water hose and I moved my right foot forward the mobile home wall and the wasp stung on my right under toe, damn wasp hid in the grass! I stepped on it 3rd times and killed him. After that I took 2 Benadryl pills, it's works good.
Hey Wrathdemon,
Sorry to heard that Hornet stung you very bad, I'm glad it's going away. I hope the Benadryl works on you well. Take care of your arm and rest well my friend.Leave a comment:

My wife got stung some years back. After about an hour she was covered in hives and I could fit my hand, laid out flat in the sting area. Took her to the hospital where they took her pulse and then just flew off down the hall with her! 220 BPM her heart rate was. After about an hour they came and got me. I had no idea what was going on. I thought she was dead. It was rather terrifying.
Next night, it started all over again with the hives and we had to go back for more adrenalin. She ended up carrying an epi pen for several years. Well, three years ago she went for tests and apparently she is not alergic to any form of sting. I'm like: "***"????? They think the hornet had gotten into something and she was poisoned by it.
In any event, I NEVER want to go through that again! If you are alergic, be careful. Don't go picking blackberries. My bushes are covered in hornets and yellowjackets when he berries ripen.
