The 08's are sold out, they are still taking orders on the 09's, plus they are adding an v-6 SE model, and a 5.7 R/T version.
I loved this car the moment I saw the sneek peek pics awhile back. I'm on the waiting list, but Canada only got a very limited number of the already limited build of 08 SRT's.
Good thing, the 08's are way overpriced at the dealers. They are listed at 39,000, but dealers are more than doubling that. The 09's will be built in much higher numbers (plus the crappy auto market in the US right now) which should bring the gouging down to a minimum...plus, you can get a 6speed manual in the 09's.
As Hector said, you gotta go with Hemi Orange and a Hemi engine to match!!!

The 5.7 R/T sounds sweet can care less about the 6 speed but more important will there be a drop top model?

I love the look of the new Challenger. It's tough to beat the look of those late 1960s-early 1970s muscle cars.

Rumor has it the convertible "concept" will be shown at the Detroit Auto Show next spring, with production dependant on 09 sales. If the cars a hit, the drop top will be out for 2010.

I'd love to see it made by i predict low sales unless a major turn around to the econmy happens, So i guess in the mean time an 08 Ford Mustang GT convertable is calling and if by chance the 10 does come out then trade in time

Yeah, the US market is tanking big time. I just read an article about the huge losses almost all major auto manufacturers suffered in the US the last couple of months...scary stuff. Up here things are not near as bleak. Chrysler is going great guns, and is a strong number two position, with GM still holding the top spot. Ford is still in number three, and Toyota, Nissan and Honda are nipping at each other for fourth. Unfortunately, the Canadian market is'nt nearly big enough to make a dent in solving the money woes of the major manufacturers.

The new Hemi for 09 will get 23mpg in the new pickups, and is rumored to get 25+ mpg in the cars (including Challenger) so that might help make it a more attractive purchase. I've heard Ford has a new v-6 turbo in the works for the Mustang that will get 25+ mpg (I'm talking highway mileages by the way) and run around 300 hp...so all hope is not lost for the Muscle Car revival to continue.

Sign of the times- I heard they won't be touting the Hemi and power in their ads. They will be marketing them with emphasis on the V-6 and its fuel economy!

Damien...you well know that if you are going to buy one of those types of cars...you don't buy them for fuel efficiency, you guy them for the cool factor and performance.

Hey, I'm just a working stiff (or at least I was, lol), and I bought a classic Mustang that gulps gas like crazy...and I still don't care, lol. My truck is also a gas guzzler and I don't care, lol. I LOVE performance and power too much.

You think some dude who earns six figures is gonna bloody care if his new Challenger gets horrid gas mileage?

                          Of course not!
