Ok....I can definately see Angelia Jolie as Catwoman....but I'm not sure I want to the Riddler in "our" new realistic Batman. And I certainly DON'T want to see the Penguin in them....I HATE that Character!


I don't know who I use for the next Batman Villian....maybe Manbat? Or Talia A'Goul come seeking revenge for the death of Her Father....only to find out in a twist, that Ra's is sill ALIVE!

Personally, I like all those actors in those roles---but I can see where people
would look at those guys as kinda "stunt casting" and be turned off---
I'm pretty casual about it though.

Catwoman I'd like to see reinterpreted. But not the Penguin or the Riddler. Let's see some other villains for a change. Like Man Bat or ClayFace. I too would like to see Talia show up. Carmen Elektra would be great in the role.
I categorize Penguin and Riddler in the same category as Robin and Batgirl as characters we don't need in these Nolan/Bale Batman movies. Same with Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Bane. They've all been done. I'd rather see Mad Hatter or some others.

That's been rumoured since before the Dark Knight, I wouldn't put any stock into it considering that Nolan doesn't think the character fits.

I'm with Dana on this. I never really liked the penguin that much. He fits well with the older style batman stories, but I don't really think he fits in with the current scheme. I guess I can't get the Danny Devito version out of my head. He was ok, but I am more interested in other villians. I would much rather look at Angelina in a skin tight cat woman outfit. With the Riddler, I still picture Batman reading the riddle outloud (for the audience) then going over it piece by piece. I suppose the right writers could do something, but it won't top the Ledger Joker, tho.

It's all just baloney rumors. The Batman creative team just said this a couple weeks ago:

MoviesOnline: You’ve done Scarecrow, you’ve done Joker, Ra’s Al Ghul, and now Two-Face, if you were to do a third film, which characters would you like to tackle?

DAVID GOYER: We’re not going to tell you other than to say Batman has been published for 70 years. In the first movie we used Ra’s Al Ghul and the Scarecrow who had not been in the movies before and had not been in the 60s TV show and there are dozens, if not hundreds of other characters that fit that bill. Everyone says you have to use the Penguin or Catwoman. Well, I completely disagree.

JONATHAN NOLAN: There’s a very deep roster of great characters over seventy years.

Doesn't sound like a couple of guys interested in squeezing Jolie into a catsuit, does it?

I will mention...however...
I do remember when there were VENOM rumors early on for SPIDERMAN 3
and I remember many fanboys claiming Raimi would NEVER use a newer villain
for his SPIDER-MAN movies because of something RAIMI had said in an interview
or two early on...

Back then I claimed Raimi would be crazy not to use VENOM due to his popularity.

Whatever the case...you can bet Nolan's choices will be at least "somewhat" influenced
by "the way the wind blows"----if there is enough pressure for CATWOMAN to be part
of the next Nolan Bat movie ----she WILL be there.

Hoffman's been rumored for a couple of years as Penguin, but the other two you nailed, Hector. Of course, there's so any rumors right now, I doubt any are true. I doubt they've begun working seriously on the second one yet. They're too busy counting the cash and giggling like school girls.

Like some others, I don't think The Riddler or Penguin should be a part of the new bat franchise. Catwoman... maybe, if it were done right. Angelina Jolie seems like a bit of stuntcasting, though.

I'm a Big Depp Fan. I like the roles he chooses,.. Most of all his characters like Captian Jack Sparrow. I head the News of the Riddler idea Yesterday. I'd would be very interesting for sure. I think he would be great imo.
