Yanks get Catcher Pudge in a trade

Wow great move for the Yanks, with Posada out they managed to land Pudge Rodriguez for close to nothing.Let's see how long it takes Boston to make a move

Yeah man! Woohoo they seriously needed to fill the void great pick up! I'm geeked over the deal....

Espn keeps saying that Manny may go to the Marlins......I hate Boston but I can't see how you'd get rid of Manny and his bat....I'm sure he's a pain but really how do you replace him?

Manny the fielder sucks. He also complains too much.I still can't see him leaving for a while. J.D.Drew suddenly went cold. He needs to get his bat back.

Yeah i've been watching the Manny to Florida thing,it would be a 3 team trade in which Boston would get Hermida,Willingham and a prospect from Fla. and then turn around and trade Hermida to Pitt for Bay

I think the Angels may be the team to beat. Everyone in their division has dumped their talent, and they added the biggest hitter available. Their pitching has been on fire also. The combo of the 7 players going to the all star game and this whole Manny crap, has really taken its toll on this team. I'm a Sox fan by the way. PS... The Yankees suck!!! I know this because it says it on the back of my car!! They look stressed every time a reporter asks about Manny. I really wish they would pick up his option for next year just to **** him off. I would even sacrifice winning just out of spite. Then I would threaten to pick up the final year if he gives them any crap. Boras is orchestrating this from behind the scenes. He met with Manny at the all star break and since then he can't get out of town fast enough. Remember Boras didn't sign this contract for Manny. He's not getting paid yet. If the Sox pick up the option years the money goes to Manny's old agent, not Boras. If the Sox pick up the two option years Manny will never get a 4 year contract after 2010. It would cost Boras a huge amount of money. Yankees made some good moves and didn't have to part with any young talent. I still don't think they have pitching with enough durability to go all the way. Especially through California. The Sox may not have enough either. The offense has been gone and it will come back. It does every year. Last year the Yankees came in and swept the Sox right around this time too. The Sox will be there in the stretch and the Yankees probably will too. I don't believe the Rays will go the entire year with no major injuries, and their depth is not that great. Sox and Yanks should take the east and the wild card, but those Angels look impressive right now. Big payroll though. Gotta sign a first baseman in the off season and Taxeira will probably be in the 20 - 23 million range Add that to Guererro, and Hunter and they'll rival the Sox and Yanks in a smaller revenue market.

I had been hoping that somehow Texeira would somehow want to go to Baltimore being from the area. Wishful fan thinking >sigh<

pudge is a good acquistion, defensively awesome but i think his offense is not what it used to be.

With the Braves letting Tiexeira go to the Angles for basically nobody I'm convinced they have given up on their season. They just have way too many injuries and it seems they just don't care anymore. Sucks for Glavin if this turns out to be his last season.

Guess now I'll pull for the Cubbies

I personally am not fond of either the Yankees or the Red Sox.

You know the Red Sox drafted him out of High School, and he opted not to sign and go to GA Tech. Man that would have been awesome!

for some reason, after players sign that BIG contract, they tend to fizzle out. job security maybe? guys like
