What did people think of Speed Racer?

i loved it, i thought it was as close to the cartoon as you could get. course the critics hated that. but i mean comeon it was based on a cartoon, coulda just used 1 or 2 less car flips

Sorry, for me...it was the second worse big budget movie of the year (The Love Guru is number one).

It was like a bad acid trip.

I have a feeling I'm not alone on this one.

My youngest wants to see it in a bad way. I took thrm to Iron Man and he was asking if we could watch Speed Racer afterwards. Good enough to rent? Good for a 6 year old?Honest opinions please...

It would have been a much better movie if they had remained more faithful to the cartoon. The futuristic Hot Wheel type race tracks and adding the Mach 6 pretty much killed my enthusiasm for the movie. Oh yeah, and the bubble cocoon safety feature for the drivers could have been omitted too.
