Tomato sauce cause me heartburn. But I love Jalapeno peppers!
But I must squeeze the vinegar out of it then poor cold filter water in the jar with Jalapeno peppers and then soak them in about 1 week later in the refrigerator and then it taste pretty less hot flavor, not bad!

Have you tried some Zantac? Occasionally, tomatoes and peppers give me trouble, too, but I could NOT live without them. When they flare up on me, a Zantac (and it's available over-the-counter for cheap) puts me at ease. Best of all possible worlds, dude!!!. You can have your "cake" and a good night's sleep, to boot! Dude, you don't have to anticipate trouble, either. If it flares up, get up take a Zantac Tablet, drink a glass of water, and in within 20-minutes you will be sleeping sound. Or, take a tablet pre-emptively and not miss a beat!Comment

And the raw ones that were suppose to be safe were the small ones like your grape and cherry tomatoes. And the ones that still have the vines on them.Comment

Right now they are blaming it all on Mexican grown Jalapenos and Serranos, but American grown is OK. Just one more thing we can blame the Mexicans for.
Personally I never stopped eating tomatoes since they never pointed the finger at vine tomatoes, which I love.
I slice them up, put some ground pepper and a touch of kosher salt, drizzle with some extra virgin olive oil, and for the final touch, I tear up some fresh basil. That is some great eating!

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF FRESH AND RAW JALAPEÑO PEPPERS BEFORE???
That's how I like mine, raw...vinegar is ok too...but with raw peppers you can do more things to it.
You wanna take the heat off?
Take out the seeds and the stem (that white thing inside the pepper)...then roast them over flame...you'll have a tasty pepper with much less heat.
If the pepper is already in vinegar, you are pretty much stuck with that heat...plus they are soggy...not crunchy and crispy like a fresh pepper.
Jalapeño pepper 101 adjourned.
