The Day the Saturday Morning Cartoons Died

Really interesting article about the rise and fall of the cartoon centric Saturday morning programming block

In the U.S. at least, children of the latter half of the 20th century have fond memories of Saturday morning cartoons. One day, it ended, here's how and why.

Well in their own way, MeTV has brought them back with their Saturday Morning Cartoons block from 7-10 EST.

    7:00-7:30--Popeye and Pals
    7:30-8:00--The Tom and Jerry Show
8:00-9:00--The Woody Woodpecker Show (newly added)
    9:00-10:00--Bugs Bunny and Friends.

And in something straight out of old school Cartoon Network, MeTV's smaller sister outlet MeTV+ (which just came on air on our monopoly cable system via WZME 43.2 in Bridgeport, but is also on WJLP 33.8 in New York/New Jersey) is Sunday Night Cartoons from 8-11 EST. Three hours of cartoons to end the weekend.

I wish MeTV would add in a rotation of some of the HB and Filmstion animated series. Like Devlin and such. Some of the lesser seen cartoon shows. HKP would be appreciated
