Well, I didn't wait till sunset and I don't have access to a 60ft. Cherry Picker, but I did remove the flags and added some "noise" to recreate the high-speed Ektachrome film used for the shot.

Supposedly, Anton LaVey (founder of the Church of Satan in 1966) is the one pictured in the center window of the balcony on the top left of the pic.

Jack Parsons was more impressive than either he or Crowley:

I love hearing about Hubbard defrauding people. A hack sci fi writer with a hokey mumbo jumbo song and dance con man routine out hustling a real rocket scientist/pagan nut job. I feel like Parsons believed his garbage which makes it slightly less offensive. Like it’s stupid but not dishonest stupid.

It’s impossible to tell who is in the window, but I love the story!

Rock folklore is always fun. The Lido was really cool to visit. I believe Carol Burnett's Grandmother was living there when she would give her the ear tug signal during her show.

Kinda reminds me of a certain ex-president's compound in south Florida .....

As far as Anton LaVey and devil worshipping... He was just an atheist with a flair for the dramatic ...

Lucifer's ladies were smitten by his Ming the Merciless look.

Indeed; yet, one of these ladies totally lost her head for him...

I seriously want one of those hoods he's wearing in those photos. I can't find a similar one, I think I'm going to end up having to make it myself.

Looks like a pretty easy endeavor except for the widow's brow...

The pointy part in the middle of the forehead...

Gotta find a way of keeping it plastered down

Toupee tape. It reminds me a lot of the 1940s Batman serials costume cowl for Batman.
